THE RESTORATION & RE-HOMING PROJECT
The Museum commenced it's restoration in January after we signed off our last duty in our old home at Lauriston Fire Station in December 2016. We will continue to work hard during our time in storage whilst awaiting the relocation to our new home, McDonald Road Fire Station, Edinburgh, come 2018. Our Project Team will continue to meet throughout the year to put forward our plans and ideas. Please continue to look over our Restoration Page to keep up to date with photo's and please also pass by our Facebook page for more content and news by clicking the 'F' at the top of the page.

Thanks,

CURRENT PROJECTS

We are currently working on three of our vehicles with Jim and Keith heading up the work on the Dennis New World Ace, and Dean heading up the work on the Dennis Fraserburgh Town Council Appliance as well as the latest addition to our collection, The Bedford Green Goddess.
Progress on the three appliances has been steady with significant progress being made on the Dennis New World Ace. The Green Goddess has been stripped of all its old Linoleum and brass trim. This is the first bit of work these appliances would have had in years. We have completed some great work on them, and if you have any questions on the work we are carrying out, please contact us.

We also have the two Colin's working on digitising our Slide collection which is a slow process, but we have found some great slides and progress has definitely been made.

Jamie has been working on digitising video footage from fire scenes and is in the process of completing the Guthrie Street gas explosion in Edinburgh, 1989.

George is in the process of assembling one of our more aged Shand & Mason pumps, dating to 1867. Again for more information on this please contact us.
